Thursday, November 20, 2025 is Give to the Max Day in Minnesota. The Friends of PWLC are working hard to uphold our mission to support the work and events at PWLC. A big project that the Prairie Science Classes have been helping with lately is brush removal, getting rid of willow trees that are invading wetland areas at PWLC. The students struggled wearing gloves that are too big for their hands, so this year we are hoping to use funds raised on Give to the Max Day to purchase several pairs of smaller gloves. These gloves would also be available for any volunteers who help do habitat work at PWLC.
The Prairie Science Classes are also hoping to integrate game cameras into their wildlife ecology lessons. US Fish and Wildlife has purchased three cameras, and the Friends would like to purchase a fourth camera so that each Prairie Science Classroom can monitor one camera. 4
